Thanksgiving Table Prayer

Posted: November 23, 2010
by: T.Alexander

Even though I keep my eyes tightly closed
against the morning light as long as possible,
Thank you Lord, that I can see.
There are many who are blind.

Even though I huddle in my bed
and put off the effort of rising,
Thank you Lord, that I have the strength to rise.
There are many who are bed ridden.

Even though the first hour of my day is hectic
when socks are lost, toast burned and tempers short,
Thank you Lord, for my family.
There are many who are lonely.

Even though our breakfast table never looks like
the pictures in magazines & the menu
is at times unbalanced,
Thank you Lord, for the food we have.
There are many who have no food.

Even though I grumble and bemoan my fate
from day to day and wish my circumstances were different,
Thank you Lord, for the gift of life.

Thanksgiving Dinner Delivered From GourmetStation

Something things are best left alone. That's the root of tradition and that's why we've offered the same exact Thanksgiving dinner gift for the past 3 years. So what's Thanksgiving all about at GourmetStation? Let's talk about what it is not. We do not sell whole bird dinners with fixings that require hours and hours of preparation. We do sell complete dinners for two including a turkey breast that requires about 1 hour in the oven. While the bird is cooking, your gift recipients will enjoy artisan bread with creamy mushroom and sherry wine soup, perfect for November cold days. While the turkey is cooking, they will also finish off their dressing and creamy spinach in the oven and gravy on the stove top. To add color and accent to the Thanksgiving dinner delivered, we've included cranberry relish. After dinner? Pumpkin pie, of course along with a packet of St. Ives Euro blend coffee.

After ten years in business, we believe we know our customers. It is heart warming to our staff to see that our customes are sending these dinners to friends and family they cannot be with. Or perhaps an aging parent that does not want to spend hours in the kitchen. Or a remote family member that lives alone and otherwise might not get to enjoy a turkey dinner. So I've come to the conclusion that when our customers send one of these Thanksgiving dinners, they're really sending a box of love. Doesn't get much better, does it?

GourmetStation is proudly serving it's customers this holiday season for the 10th year with delicious food gifts.
