Birthday Dinners Delivered – An Ideal Food Gift Posted: July 1, 2007 I recently had a friend move to the Northeast – from the South. Now we won’t hold that against her – sometimes a gal has to do what a gal has to do. My problem is that I miss her and would like to take her to dinner. Her birthday is just around the corner and I’d really enjoy taking her out for a special birthday dinner and catching up on her life. I’m here / she’s there. Does anyone have a birthday dinner idea? I’m fortunate because I know about GourmetStation and the fine gourmet gifts they provide. I’m also lucky because I’m in the know about their 20% sale going on right now for their Tuscan occasion dinners delivered, including birthday dinners. Problem solved! UPS will deliver the gourmet dinners in beautiful gift packaging and they will leave the package without a signature which is convenient because my friend works away from home. Then comes the fun part – a four course dinner with only 30 minutes preparation time. I can anticipate the rest. She’ll have a wonderful evening with the Tuscan dinners and a nice bottle of Italian wine and the next day she’ll call to say “thanks” – then we can catch up on all the good stuff. Thanks GourmetStation! Birthday Gourmet Meal - Parisian Style Posted: July 5, 2006 Birthdays roll around fast and the older we get, the faster we deplete our reservoir of unique birthday gift ideas. Don’t fret – I’ve got the answers. Birthdays are about celebration and who ever heard of a celebration without delicious food. For your next birthday dinner celebration I recommend letting GourmetStation do the work for your. Their wide selection of gourmet meals delivered takes the pressure off planning, preparing and serving. You can relax, enjoy the moment & be the stellar host or hostess that you are. You may select birthday dinners from our Tuscan, Cajun or Fusion menus. This year, however, I’m recommending Parisian and a good French wine to compliment the experience. Go ahead – order a Parisian gourmet meal delivered, seek out your perfect French wine and let the world stop for a moment while you honor that special someone. Chevillon-Chezeaux – Nuits-Saint-Georges (Excerpt from TopFrenchWine.com) This French family have been growing vines here for 4 generations (9 hectares). The working and winemaking methods have remained traditional, with grapes picked by hand, long vatting and maturing in oak barrels for 18 to 24 months. A good Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru Les Saint-Georges – good colour, complex bouquet with aromas of ripe red fruit and liquorice, makes a good impression on the palate, ideal served with game. Excellent Nuits les Porêts combining roundness and power in the mouth, complex and subtle at the same time, rich and nicely balanced, with great ageing potential. The same goes for the Nuits Premier Cru Aux Champs Perdrix, very traditional, well structured with firm tannins. Older vintages are still available. Remarkable character and value for money. Birthday Dinner Party Posted: February 28, 2006 Many thanks to guest writer Mark Stine for sharing his ideas on birthday dinner parties for a friend or loved one. The US is a beautiful country and covers a lot of diverse geography. The downside is that often times we don’t live near our loved ones or friends. Work …career…spouses or significant others take us to new places every day. So how do we celebrate birthdays or other special occasions? For my 50th birthday I had planned a trip to New Zealand. I even had an adventure-some cousin, Karen Alexander (LOL….no relation to T. Alexander...although they would get along VERY well) want to take the trip as well. But a re-location to Las Vegas and career change interfered with the planning and after one month into a new job my life long dream of celebrating a birthday in the land of “Lord of the Rings” had to be sidelined. So what did I do for my birthday? I stopped at a small place on the way home from work…and called a brother on the cell phone. Nice enough…but not exactly what I had in mind…and anyway…aren’t 50th’s supposed to be special…or extra special as all birthdays are special! Well don’t leave your loved ones or that special friend in a lurch…they may be far away but that doesn’t mean they can’t have a nice birthday dinner celebration…and you can be in charge of it. Why should they be alone? Get started now. Make a list of their friends and local worker cohorts…make the effort to find out …surreptitiously of course! Then enlist their spouse or a trusted local friend to provide the local support mechanism. Make a list: Who is in charge locally Is the location for the celebration cleared and secured Invite the guests/confirm RSVP’s Does your friend / relative have someone to “bird dog” them and make sure they show up where and when they are supposed to (I know this seems like a lot of details but aren’t loved ones worth it?) Is the food and beverage ordered? What do you think the special person would want for their birthday dinner? Well there is a simple solution to that problem....contact GourmetStation by phone at 1-888-944-9794. Let them know the party dates, the number of people attending and they can arrange a special birthday dinner party package tailored just for you. From appetizers…to soups to entrees…you can make it all happen simply and easily with one phone call. Plus the selections are tasteful, easy to prepare and will make your party a dream. What about the timing and delivery…the GourmetStation specialist will guide you through the quantity needed ...timing …and preparation. Nothing could be simpler. If all you want that night is “ Le Grande Display” of desserts, well then no one but …GourmetStation can do it better. Their international cheesecakes will make this birthday beyond special and leave everyone wanting more. And what about that special person…capture it on film…digital…digital video…Polaroid, whatever the format….just make sure you capture it. In a few short years they will look back on that event and think “darn didn’t I look good for that time in my life!” You will feel special too….because there is no warmer feeling than giving and seeing that shine in someone else’s eyes as they receive so much joy from those around them. Even if you don’t make it there to share with them ..or be some place you always dreamed of like New Zealand for your own birthday dinner….that night can be a special remembrance….from now and always. History Of Birthday Gifts & Parties Posted: December 10, 2005 Every tradition has roots somewhere. Some traditions are obvious and others take a little research. Did you know that the tradition of birthday parties actually started in Europe? Seems it was feared that evil spirits were particularly attracted to people on their birthdays. So to protect them, friends and family would gather around the birthday person and bring good thoughts and wishes. It was thought that giving gifts brought even more good cheer to further help ward off evil spirits. At first only kings were considered worthy enough to be recognized with a birthday celebration. But as time passed the tradition spread outside of the monarchy. The first children's birthday parties occurred in Germany and were called Kinderfeste. If you are seeking a unique birthday gift for someone special, remember - Gourmet Birthday Quotes For Your Birthday Food Gifts Posted: October 19, 2005 If you have writers block about a funny (or serious) message to include with your birthday card or gift, consider the following: The best birthdays of all are those that haven’t arrived yet. To me, old age is always 15 years older than I am. When I was younger, I could remember anything, whether it happened or not. A diplomat is a man who remembers a woman’s birthday But never remembers her age. If you have buyers block about a unique or interesting gourmet gift to go with your quote, consider GourmetStation! Birthday Dinner At La Regalade Posted: August 8, 2005 My favorite birthday dinner gift was served by Yves Camdeborde at La Regalade in Paris not long ago. The experience was unforgettable, not to mention the dinner was a remarkable value. Although I usually eat early, we had reservations at 11:00 PM; a wonderful dining time in the city of love. The best way I can describe the cuisine is simple and fresh. Yves says modestly, "I don't want to play the chef's role in a white toque every night. I want to cook!" And cook he does. If you're looking for an extraordinary birthday experience, try La Regalade at 49 av. Jean-Moulin, Parks, Phone 01-45-45-68-58. If you want to give an unforgettable birthday experience and can't make it to La Regalade this year, try the extraordinary birthday gourmet food gifts from GourmetStation. |
